Meet the TIA Team at Woodland Elementary
There are three multiage 1 / 2 classrooms at Woodland Elementary. Each class has approximately 18 students, 11 grade ones and 7 grade twos. These classes are diverse in needs and ability.
Lori Pretty has been teaching since 2000. She began her career as a music teacher and then found her place in the primary classroom. She has been teaching multiage 1 / 2 for the past 4 years. She enjoys working with other teachers as they share the responsibility of multiage 1 / 2 classes and feels that it is beneficial to the students having them looping in her class for two years

Elizabeth Drover started her teaching career in Davis Inlet, Labrador in 1999. She returned to the island in 2001. She has taught special education for a number of years and then moved into the elementary mainstream classroom. For the past two years Elizabeth has been teaching in the primary classroom, including multiage 1 / 2. She likes to use initiatives in her classroom that make real life connections for the students. This might be in the form of drama, visitors or web-based projects.
